Following the crowded weekend at Gaston Park where health protocols were violated, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro thru its Disciplina Muna Advocacy Team assigned more personnel at the park premises joining other members of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, CDRRMD – Oro Rescue, Roads and Traffic Administration, local barangay officials and tanods, City Public Services Office, and City Civil Security Unit to ensure that minimum health protocols are strictly observed.

Cagayan de Oro filmmaker Julienne Ilagan of Blackfish Productions together with April Batican of Epicmedia Productions, have been selected by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) to represent the Philippines in the 21st Rotterdam Lab of the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in the Netherlands next year.

Ilagan is known for her award-winning short film “Balut. Penoy. Asin” which won best picture in Cinemagis 2017 and full-length feature film “Kauyagan.”

Monster Kitchen Pueblo located at Regatta Square at Pueblo de Oro in Uptown Cagayan de Oro City had its grand opening yesterday, December 15, 2020 providing uptown residents their needs for baking supplies, tools, equipment, packaging, demos and more.
The 9th branch of Monster Kitchen is in line with the company’s promise of being a Neighborhood Negosyo Partner. They opened 2 other branches this year in Valencia City last August and last month at Puerto, Cagayan de Oro.
Among those present during the ribbon cutting ceremony were Monster Kitchen owners Jan Michael Uy and Ms. Maggie Uy, Ms. Jesse Abear of DTI Region 10, bank partners from Metrobank and Chinabank and the rest of the officers of Monster Kitchen.
Dr. Miguel David de Leon, an eye surgeon and field biologist from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, has just discovered and presented a new orchid species. Aerides upcmae was named after his alma mater, the UP College of Medicine.
The said orchid was discovered and photographed sometime in December 2019 by Dr. de Leon in Bukidnon and reportedly endemic to the province. It was confirmed as a new orchid species just last week. See photos of the stunningly spectacular orchid below.

After a 5-day limited opening for a charity event, NOBSKA BREEZEWAY, the newest mountain sanctuary located at the foothills of Mt. Balatukan in San Isidro, Lunotan, Gingoog City will finally have its inaugural opening on Sunday, December 27, 2020 just in time for its first anniversary on December 28. You might be wondering about the first anniversary but the place was actually completed last year and was scheduled to open during the Holy Week this year. Every year during the latter months towards January, thousands of these species of migratory birds are seen perched on wires and cables along Marcos Bridge in Cagayan de Oro City. Accordingly, these birds travel long distances to escape the winter in the northern hemisphere.

Motorcycle taxi service ANGKAS is set to resume soon its pilot testing operations in Cagayan de Oro City. This time, passengers will now be required to bring their own helmet to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Helmets should have a full-faced visor & lock. Bicycle & hardhat helmets are not allowed.
Government regulating agencies such as the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Local Goverment Unit of Cagayan de Oro, Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), Highway Patrol Group HPG, and Phil.
